Papersmiths
Papersmiths moved its design studio from Bridport to Bristol in 2013, they struggled to find suitable premises. They eventually found a retail unit in Perry Road, moved in, and continued with business as usual. After a few months, they decided they could take advantage of having a shop front. They had £500 and a whole lot of elbow grease.
With this, they split the space in two and it housed their design studio and a shop that celebrated design-led goods that they use and draw inspiration from in its own day to day creative endeavors. By 2014, the team had outgrown the space and the shop was getting busier. They moved to a four-story Georgian building in Clifton Village and Papersmiths was born. Since then, they have gained quite a bit of press over the years.

Choosing Keeping is the first brick and mortar shop. They are independent, only have one outlet, and are a small team. They cannot, and do not seek to, match dubious multinationals with same-day delivery services but they do promise to have much more interesting products, packaged in a more human way, sent at an analogue pace, just like stationery, postmen, and using stamps. Having said that they do its best and most orders are sent out the same day and received promptly.
